Rashford nears Ferguson record
The most goals a United player has scored in a single season since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013 is 28.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic managed that in the 2016/2017 season, propelling the club to Europa League and Carabao Cup glory that year.
And Bruno Fernandes managed it in the 2020/2021 campaign, too.
Rashford is, however, now one away from that number with many matches left to play.
It seems baffling there was criticism of the player a year ago, having gone off the boil under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.
