Speaking after Saka’s two-goal haul against Palace, the Spaniard said: “I think the team did really well and we obviously have individuals that excel to be at the level that we want, but he was really, really good today again, affecting the result with his contribution, especially in the opponent’s box, so I’m really happy.”

Arsenal are reportedly set to secure Saka’s future in a major boost to their chances of further success. Fans had worried that the player, whose current deal ends in 2024, would be poached by one of Europe’s richest clubs. 

But with a new contract widely expected to be confirmed in the coming months, Arsenal will have their Starboy tied down for the foreseeable future.
