Americans Abroad Midweek Preview: McKennie, Reyna, and more

Both Leeds United and Nottingham Forest are well in the thick of the English Premier League relegation fight and Tuesday’s huge six-pointer at Elland Road could have a vital say on who stays up and who goes down come May.

Weston McKennie, Brenden Aaronson and Leeds United welcome Steve Cooper’s squad to Elland Road on Tuesday with only one point separating the two clubs. The Yorkshire club is coming off a 4-1 thumping at the hands of league-leaders Arsenal and will be fighting to get anything they can this week to escape the clutches of the relegation zone.

With Tyler Adams remaining sidelined through injury, Weston McKennie is a likely candidate to replace his USMNT teammate in midfield. McKennie played 25 minutes off the bench at the Emirates Stadium while Aaronson played 65 minutes from the start for the Lilywhites.

Elsewhere in England, Christian Pulisic and Chelsea take on Liverpool in a huge Premier League clash for both clubs.

In Germany, Gio Reyna and Borussia Dortmund fight to advance to the German Cup semifinals.
