Man Utd transfer news: Ian Wright names four signings Erik ten Hag must make | Football | Sport

Ian Wright thinks Manchester United must make four signings to boost Erik ten Hag’s chances of bringing back the glory days. The Red Devils have endured a positive campaign so far and remain in contention for a cup treble. However, work is still required if they’re to challenge for prizes such as the Premier League and Champions League.

Manchester United have recruited nine Players since Ten Hag succeeded Ralf Rangnick at the end of last season.

Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Antony and Martin Dubravka were all recruited back in the summer.

And, in January, the Red Devils proceeded to bring in Wout Weghorst, Marcel Sabitzer and Jack Butland on loan.

Now, Wright has expressed a belief United need four more arrivals - insisting they require a new right winger, right-back, striker and goalkeeper.

He said on his Wrighty's House podcast: "That man [Ten Hag] has got to get everything he needs to try and do his job well and play the football he wants to play.

Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane, of Napoli and Tottenham respectively, are admired behind the scenes.

And United also have interest in the likes of Declan Rice, Mason Mount and Jude Bellingham as they look to bolster their midfield.

Jeremie Frimpong and Denzel Dumfries are right-backs who have been linked with United amid uncertainty over their futures at Bayer Leverkusen and Inter Milan respectively.

And David Raya and Giorgi Mamardashvili are goalkeepers under consideration, too.

Ten Hag recently did insist United must be in the Champions League next season.

But he also claimed his side would be attractive to potential transfer targets regardless of how they finish the campaign.

"Of course we are more interesting when we are in the Champions League...We have two paths,” he said. “One is the Premier League, being in the top four, or win the Europa League, so they are the two paths."

He added: "I think a very good example is Casemiro.

"He won everything, including the Champions League, but he was willing to come to Manchester United.

"Even when we were playing in the Europa League because this club attracts people, it's very interesting for them and they want to be part of this club."
