Petit again stated his view that Arsenal should raid Brighton for their two star midfielders. Mac Allister has enjoyed a fine goalscoring season for Brighton, having netted 10 times in all competitions either side of winning the World Cup with Argentina in December.

Caicedo has started 26 of Brighton's league matches this term and has caught the eye of a number of England's top sides. Petit added: "Just like some Players at Brighton, Caicedo, I'm a big fan.

"For the last two years, I've been saying that for Arsenal that they should take him, Mac Allister as well, the duo in the midfield. I think they would fit perfectly with Arsenal."
